And Greg is picking out lettuce for the garden. Since Mother’s Day has passed, we are now allowed to plant our garden. A week’s worth of procrastination meant we had to run out at lunch to pick up tomato plants before planting with my dad (supposed to be today, now moved to Sunday due to the rain).
Greg was amazed at the varieties of lettuce we could grow and picked a romaine to try. A garden is something I grew up with. Watching him stare in awe of all the possibilities makes me appreciate the 28 years of fresh veggies we had. Each year my dad seemed to try something new in addition to the standards (beans, pepper, tomatoes, apples, raspberries, blueberries, beans, zucchini, and now grapes). People used to ask if we lived on a farm (no). My first year of gardening in and my Swiss chard, sunflowers, raspberries, and basil are already growing!
Now we just need some sun.
