Five on Friday: Pumpkin Time

You mention one thing about pumpkin at the right time of year and suddenly everyone is talking pumpkin everything.

Including this blog.

My darling husband and friend started an entire Facebook conversation about how I need to do a Five on Friday about pumpkin food because they were craving it. Whereas I thought we needed a post dedicated to the Great Pumpkin Massacre a la Calvin & Hobbes.

As you can see, the food won out. Now here are a few options for you to wash down with your Dunkin Donuts/ Wawa pumpkin coffee.

Now on to the five Friday pumpkins!

1. Pumpkin Donuts

What better was to start your day (and maybe your coworkers day) than making everyone some baked pumpkin donuts. I know if I brought these to work, Hazel would be thrilled. She might even suggest I’m employee of the month. The directions are simple but require a donut pan. Just run to BB&B with one if there coupons!

2. Pumpkin Mac & Cheese

Mac and cheese is orange to begin with so you might as well make it festive looking by adding some pumpkin. Greg and I made a version of this a few years ago and were impressed with how well the flavors blended together. Sure there might be a few more steps than I prefer but for a once a season treat, go for it.

3. Pumpkin French Toast

Nothing better on a cool fall weekend morning than to dig into a stack of pumpkin french toast. If I wanted to be a good wife, I would make these one Sunday for Greg after a marathon training run.

4. Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars

Super easy and super good! I made these over the weekend for our Phillies challenge party and by the time our last partygoer left, the bars were gone. Great light, fluffy taste to them!

5. Pumpkin Soup

Mmmm nothing is better than soup on a crisp fall day.  This pumpkin soup sounds like the perfect meal to enjoy after a day of raking leaves or pumpkin picking.  A simple recipe for a delicious and fall inspired meal.

  1. That pumpkin picture – PLOL (pig laughing out loud) – it kills me! I’m laughing so hard. I myself love pumpkin too. I could eat one or a dozen – snorts – of those pumpkin cheesecake bars – yummo! XOXO – Bacon
