Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Our long weekend will be dedicated to finishing the office which has been our longest running project. I feel like Scarlett O’Hara standing in the field swearing she’ll never go hungry again but I’m standing in the middle of the office swearing we will be finished this room. Although I won’t be making a dress out of my newly made curtains, I will be using whatever it takes (most likely buffalo chicken dip) to get Greg to push through on this project.
In addition to the office, we hope to do some grilling or find someone to feed us. Hopefully most of you have already been invited to a few BBQs (or planning one) and if you want to make it even better, think about bringing one of these lovely dishes. Growing up I learned to always bring a dish of something when attending a party and now I can’t show up empty handed. Today’s Five on Friday are five of my tried and true recipes, essentially the ultimate crowd pleasers because how can you go wrong with bacon wrapped pork tenderloin or cookies made with beer?
But before you get cooking, please take a few minutes to remember the reason for Memorial Day and consider donating to Cup of Joe For A Joe.
Cup Of Joe For A Joe has been a wonderful way for Americans everywhere to say thanks to our Troops and let them know they’re appreciated through the simple act of buying a cup of freshly brewed coffee, writing a personal letter of encouragement to go with it and having both delivered into the hands of a Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine or Coast Guardsman who is serving far from home.
The Cup Of Joe letters you send from home are delivered to our Troops by email and the freshly brewed cups of coffee are served at Green Beans Coffee cafes on the bases where they’re deployed.
Now on to the Five!
